UW researchers are studying the effects of children鈥檚 exposure to diesel bus exhaust, and are looking for students in the Seattle and Tahoma school districts who ride diesel school buses.
The study, by the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences, investigates whether upgrading diesel school bus fleets with new engines or exhaust technologies will improve children鈥檚 health.
Students will get monthly respiratory evaluations at school, and will will receive a $10 gift card at each monthly session, plus a family membership to the Pacific Science Center, Woodland Park Zoo or Seattle Aquarium for the year of sessions.
